Visitors from all over the world crowded the Itema booth during ITMA 2019, just consider that we registered guests from more than 60 different countries!
Top 5 countries for number of visitors were India, Turkey, Italy, China and Pakistan but also Egypt, Japan, Brazil, Portugal, Germany and USA had high participation rates.
Most of the worldwide textile manufacturing companies did not miss the ITMA appointment and their delegates were led by decision makers at the highest levels. We had the chance to enter interesting and inspiring discussions with our visitors, investigating their weaving needs and offering solutions for their future investments. The Itema team –on site in full force – started important negotiations and we also finalized relevant leads.
At ITMA 2019, Itema rolled out a series of brand-new weaving innovations that took center stage during the exhibition. We showcased for the first time the Loom of the Future – birth name, Discovery – in a move to demonstrate our full dedication to innovate the weaving industry. Discovery – developed by Itemalab™ – was the real star of the show. It was amazing to see the crowd around the machine during demo times! Discovery was introduced at ITMA as a “concept machine” and it garnered the attention of worldwide weavers thanks to its completely new operations based on mechatronic principles and not anymore, as it happens on current weaving machines, on mechanical drives.
Additionally, two brand-new airjet weaving machines were presented, the A95002 and the A95002bedsheeting.
Bed Sheeting represents one of the largest and most competitive market segments in the textile industry and itsdemanding fabric production requires specific technologies. Itema developed the A95002bedsheeting to meet the ever increasing needs of the market.
Key machine components – such as main and tandem nozzles – have been re-designed, along with a new pneumatic platform to ensure superior performances in terms of speed coupled with superior fabric quality and textile efficiency.
Absolute new launch and core advancement featured on the A95002bedsheeting are the brand-new heald frames SKYFRAME™ – Itema exclusive proprietary technology – made of aluminum and carbon and designed by Itemalab™ in cooperation with Lamiflex. The Itema SKYFRAME™, thanks to a lightweight, yet robust design, enables high speed performance without compromising reliability and resistance.
The A95002, the Second Generation of the Itema airjet A9500 and A9500p, sums up the best features of its predecessors and further enhances machine performances, cost savings and textile efficiency.
Thanks to a new and optimized pneumatic platform, including air tanks and distributors, the weft insertion cycle is significantly improved, leading to a quicker system response when handling air load and pressure and guaranteeing minimal vibration and higher structural reliability. The entire machine structure has been revised to increase the air tank capacity, ensuring superior textile performances even at the highest speeds.
Last but not least, specific devices – such as iREED® – ensure air consumption reduction and increased fabric quality.
The Itema denim dedicated rapier machine R95002denim exhibited at ITMA was equipped with the one-of-a-kind iSAVER™ that represents the unique real sustainable weaving tool in the weaving industry by eliminating the weft and warp waste on the left-hand side of the fabric. Moreover, the R95002denim featured an enhanced weft transfer system and innovative IOT solutions. The brand-new iBOOSTER package and iCARE System implement the most modern principles to provide unparalleled performances and predictive maintenance solutions to weavers who want to run extremely fast but completely safe.
At ITMA, we also exhibited 4 machines in the Itematech booth – the rapiers R95002, Hercules and UniRap, including one absolute new machine version – the Hercules 4.5 – dedicated to weave the coarsest technical fabrics thanks to its key reinforcements.
ITMA was the proving ground for Itematech, the perfect occasion to gather Customers and technical fabrics stakeholders feedback. And we collected extremely positive feedbacks. Visitors of the Itematech booth were more than excited with the opportunity to find in a single and unique partner the widest range of technological solutions to weave technical fabrics. And it is exactly the main mission of the recently established Itematech. In fact, thanks to the strong know-how resulting from the merger of Itema – technical textiles weaving machines – and PTMT (formerly Panter) expertise and competences, Itematech will offer the most comprehensive weaving portfolio available in the market to weave technical fabrics and the most skilled and experienced technical textiles team in the industry. Technical fabrics manufacturers finally find now in Itematech a unique partner and a technological reference point to meet and exceed all their needs when it comes to weaving the full range of technical applications.
ITMA 2019 was an overall success for Itema, we had the chance to meet our worldwide Customers, to discuss with our Prospects and to collect precious hints from industry insiders. Itema took center stage in the weaving hall, by creating attention and enthusiasm due to our new and advanced technology.
With the Itema Headquarters in Italy, it will be in our element and we are already looking forward to ITMA Milan in 2023. Once again, we will prepare and we will exhibit solutions designed to meet and anticipate our Customer’s needs!
