The Itema iSAVER® Range: The future of sustainable weaving
Since ever rapier weaving technology implicates warp and weft waste formation at both fabric sides. But Itema changed the rules of the game by launching in 2018 the iSAVER®—the first green and reliable contribution to the weaving process. iSAVER® by Itemalab® eliminates the waste selvedge on the fabric left-hand side by inserting the weft without the need of additional yarns, thus significantly reducing raw materials and water wastage.Initially designed for the benefit of denim weavers, iSAVER® is today installed in the worldwide greatest denim mills and successfully weaves the widest range of denim and cotton-based fabrics.
By popular request, the Itemalab® engineers developed new versions of iSAVER® that is now available up to 6 colors and for many more textile applications.

How it Works?
iSAVER® is based on the most advanced mechatronic principles that results in a highly innovative, yet intuitive and simple to operate device:
- by inserting the weft yarns in the fabric without the need of additional yarns, the iSAVER® eliminates the false selvedge on the left side of the fabric significantly reducing raw material waste leading to never-seen-before cost savings and setting a new benchmark in sustainable weaving
- working up to six weft colors/yarns, the iSAVER® features small clamps that hold the yarn during the weft insertion cycle and that move according to the weft that has to be inserted in the fabric
- set-up is possible directly from the machine console
- in case of fabric width adjustments, stays in its position since the weaver just needs to work on the right side of the fabric by setting an asymmetric width reduction
